The Office of Assistant Secretary is similar in all respects to that of a Lodge Secretary in that the duties that can be carried out by the Assistant Secretary are very much the same.

A Lodge Secretary is an office where the incumbant has a lot of work to do, the Lodge therefore is permitted to appoint an Assistant to the Secretary. His duty is to assist the Lodge Secretary in his work, invariably his work is different in each Lodge dependent on what the Lodge Secretary requires him to do.
