Assistant Director of Ceremonies
As you would expect, the Assistant Directors duties are to assist the Director of Ceremonies in carrying out his duties and also to stand in when and if the Director of Ceremonies is unable to attend.
You will often find that the ADC will have set duties in a Lodge, for example, when a Brother has arrived late and seeks admission to the Lodge, the ADC will be the one to receive him and conduct him to his seat.
It can be interesting to look out for the different way that the DC and ADC work when you visit different Lodges.

The current Assistant Director of Ceremonies is W.Bro Bob Hurworth PPrAGDC (Surrey). W.Bro Bob first became an Honorary member of the Septem Dover Lodge after his Mother Lodge, Septem Surbiton 5887 handed back its warrant due to his long association with Septem Dover 7788. He decided that he wanted to become a full time member of the Septem Dover Lodge, and was honoured and proud to be offered the post of Assistant Director of Ceremonies.
