Why Consider Joining the Septem Lodge?

Dover Masonic Hall

The Septem Lodge was consecrated in December 1961 and meets in the Masonic Hall, 139, Snargate Street, Dover CT17 9DA. The Lodge meets on the second Saturday in the months of January, March, May, September and November. There are also Lodges of Instruction which are held approximately every two weeks on a Friday evening during the months of August to May, a Summer recess takes place during the months of June and July.

The Lodge currently has no specific age demographic with member ages ranging from 21 up to 80. We have members who have been involved with Freemasonry for over 50 years and some members who have only recently started on their Masonic journey. Members occupations are many and varied from Labourers to Drivers to Blue collar and white collar professions, there are no professions that would not be considered for membership.

Personal and Lodge Mentoring

We encourage our members to be involved with each other through various means, there is a closed Facebook page, a Whatsapp group,  Messenger, and Telegram. We have also made extensive use of the Zoom platform for keeping up with each other during the recent periods of ‘Lockdown’. We have a very strong mentoring system where the members Proposer and Seconder are involved as you progress on your Masonic journey as well as a personal Mentor being appointed to guide you through, all Mentors are guided by the Lodge mentor who is there to co-ordinate all the of the Personal Mentors but is also available to each and every member should they so wish. Our Lodge Almoner is there to assist members who may require assistance.

The Lodge has a very active Social Calendar, which includes a Summer BBQ, usually around July, a Summer Social around late September, a Christmas social in late November,  and a Hail and Farewell usually around April. A Ladies Festival is an annual event, it is where Freemasons celebrate their Ladies and is always very well attended.

These social occasions are where funds raised are for the purposes of raising Charitable donations to give to the Worshipful Master’s chosen charity during the year he holds that office.

2019 Annual Spinoza L50 RGLB Visit

For the past 5 years, an annual visit to the L50 Spinoza Lodge in the Regular Grand Lodge of Belgium has taken place by members of the Septem Lodge, this visit takes place every February, the trip leaves on a Friday and returns on a Sunday. It is followed by a return visit of the Spinoza Lodge members in May, to our Lodge in Dover.

Plans are now well advanced for a visit to a Lodge in Vienna where our Ladies will be invited on to this trip and have a long weekend mini city break.

The members of the Septem Lodge believe in a strong bond of fellowship, we like to be in each others company and we like to raise funds for those local charities that approach the Lodge for our help and support, we are able to do this by having regular get togethers at our Socials and our meetings where our members are keen to support each other as well as charity. Entertainment can be anything from Live Music, to our famous Christmas Pantomimes, to Race Nights, Quiz Nights, Karaoke, Fancy dress nights and Disco’s, there is always something for everyone to enjoy.
