Membership Officer
Although as yet, not an official collared office within a Lodge, the Membership Officer has an important role to play within his Lodge. He is responsible for potential Candidates who may wish to join the Lodge, whether it be from a source within the Lodge or a source from outside the Lodge, such as the ‘Just Ask One’ website.
The duties of the role are to ensure that candidates for joining have all of the required information that is needed to make an informed decision as to whether this Lodge is the right Lodge for them. He will communicate with Candidates at all stages of the joining process, from initial contact through the interviewing process and preparation for initiation, and ensures that the candidate is completely at ease on the night of his initiation ceremony.
After initiation, the Lodge Mentor and his team of individual Mentors takes over the guidance of a candidate, but the Membership Officer will stay in touch and answer any questions that the candidate may have during his Masonic journey.

The current Lodge Membership Officer is W.Bro Mike Gee, a Grand Lodge Officer who is a very experienced Freemason who combines his Lodge role with the role of being a Provincial Membership Officer with specific responsibility for finding the right Lodge for prospective new Members who come via the ‘Independent’ source, reporting directly to the APGM in charge of Recruitment and Retention for the Province of East Kent.
