Sylvester is married with 4 children, two boys and two girls ranging from 10 years of age to 26 years of age.

I was Initiated into freemasonry in April 2002 to what was then Septem Dover’s ‘sister’ lodge, Septem Lodge, in Surbition Surrey. I joined freemasonry in part because: I came from a family of decorated masons; To honour my father who died years prior to my joining; Curiosity; and lastly in the hope and desire to contribute to help and support the community and society at large.

When I joined I actively and enthusiastically took any and every position asked and offered to me. I quickly ‘rose through the various ranks of offices and within seven years became ‘Master’ of the Lodge, the Worshipful Master!. Within two years of serving as Master and Immediate Past Master I became Assistant Secretary, then the Secretary of the Lodge.

I was honoured to be recognised for my service to Septem Lodge and Surrey freemasonry in general having also been a member of the Surrey Provincial Debating Team for many years, and so accepted the invitation to my first appointment by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Surrey, to the rank of Past Provincial Assistant Grand Registrar (PPAGReg). I was provided with the jewel of that office at the Provincial Grand Lodge of Surrey’s AGM at United Grand Lodge of England, Great Queen Street, London in the second quarter of 2014. In 2016 I was made Honorary Member for Septem Dover.

In my professional work life past managerial employers have been in fmcg, Insurance, Asset Management , B2C / B2B publishing, Management Consultancy, Advertising Marketing Services and Investment Banking.

I have worked in the City of London in financial services, specifically Investment Banking for over 28 years now. I am presently a Business Services, Media , Technology & Telecommunications (BMT&T) Sector Lead. Managing a team responsible for all aspects of business and market information research for a demanding client base.

With a family of energetic, sporty and active members my leisure time is their leisure time. Down time is spent reading sci-fi/horror novels and biographies; watching and reading news/current affairs; learning to play Chess better; Gardening and the ‘Discovery’ channel on Sky! Sylverster is also a Freeman of the City of London.
