W.Bro John Michael Alan Newman currently lives in Faversham with his wife Karly, who he has been with for fourteen years and their three children. who’s ages range between eight and thirteen.

W.Bro John was initiated into freemasonry on the 12th November 2011, passed to the 2nd Degree on the 10th March 2012 and raised to the 3rd Degree on the 9th March 2013 and became a steward shortly after. He then progressed through the offices of steward to senior warden and became the youngest Worshipful Master of the Septem Lodge in April 2019 and due to the circumstances of the Covid pandemic in 2020, stayed as Worshipful Master for a second year during 2020. He is also an active member of a Holy Royal Arch Chapter, where he was exalted on the 2nd November 2015.

Since leaving school and not knowing what he wanted to do in life, John has had many jobs ranging from working in retail, bar work, landscaping, potato merchant, and builder, before finding a job he liked, which is driving lorry’s for a living. Mainly road sweepers. He has worked for the same firm for the last 8 years.

In his spare time, he likes to go socialising down the pub, (when he was allowed to, and Karly let’s him) restoring stationary engines/ tractors, walks with the family, and looking after the countless animals they have at home. With over 40 animals, which certainly takes up a lot of time. If there’s any time left after the kids are asleep he likes to relax and play on the computer.

His main interests are, Vintage machinery/steam engine, computers, bat and trap
