Married to my bride of 54 years. (Jenny). We have 2 daughters. My eldest daughter lives near us in Surbiton and she has 2 daughters of her own. One at Exeter University and the other is going to Edge Hill University in Lancashire in September 2021. Our second daughter currently lives in Switzerland and has a daughter of 15 and a son of 13. We have wonderful holidays in the Alps.

I have been a freemason since 1985, being Initiated into Septem Lodge 5887 (Surbiton) and progressing to the Chair in 1995. After the Chair I served as ADC, DC, Secretary and Charity Steward. When Septem Surbiton handed in it’s Warrant Septem Dover made me an Honorary Member and I later became a full subscribing member about a year later.

I am a member of Chapter of United Endeavour No 7405 that meets in Sutton Surrey and at present I am the Scribe E. I am also a very active member of several Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodges in the Province of Middlesex.

Leaving school at 15 back in the middle ages I joined the Parachute Regiment serving around the world with 3 Para. On leaving the military I joined my wife’s family retail Ironmongery and Locksmithing business.

Now retired, I am a volunteer at my local community arts centre where I ran the bar for many years and now potter around do odd maintenance jobs and building stage sets. My other interests include gardening, nature conservation and walks in the countryside.
