Mike lives on the outskirts of Deal with his wife Jenny. They have two daughters and three Grand children, Ben, Henry and Holly.
Mike joined Freemasonry in 1998 and soon began to climb the promotion ladder in the lodge. After six years almost reached the chair on King Solomon but due to work commitments Mike stepped off the ladder, he later returned and began again as Junior Deacon, this time making it through the chair in 2015. After a year as Immediate Past Master Mike took on the role of Lodge Of Instruction Secretary, a role which he continues to do and adding the role of lodge mentor in 2019 Mike took up the position of Assistant Director of Ceremonies in 2022 and enjoys his new role.He has received his first appointment as a Provincial Officer to Past Assistant Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in April 2023, an achievement of which he is very proud and honoured to hold.
Mike first trained as a Musician at the Royal Marines School of Music graduating in 1972. He toured many parts of the world in the Marines and retired after 18 years service as a Sergeant, he then joined the Sultan of Omans Navy as a Warrant officer 1st Class, as the brass instructor/ Bandmaster.
Mike returned to the Uk after two years abroad and started a second career in Kent Police, he had a varied career in the force and ended his 17 year stint in Special Branch.
Mike retired from the Police Force in 2009 to take up his third career as a professional actor, singer and musician.
Still enjoying a semi-retired status Mike still works as an actor/musician but plays golf, looks after grandchildren and helps to run Blackfish Academy, a youth theatre group in Dover.
