2023 Provincial Honours

The traditional Christmas present of Provincial Honours was made to  brethren of the Septem Lodge No:7788 as shown below. I am sure that the members of the Lodge wish to congratulate W.Bro Graham on his fantastic achievement and the preferrment of the Senior Provincial Rank he has been appointed to.

It is a reflection of the years of service that these brethren have given to the Lodge, serving for many years in different roles in both the Lodge and at Provincial Level.

W.Bro Graham Skelton has been promoted the the Active Rank of Provincial Sword Bearer from the rank of Past Provincial Deputy Grand Sword Bearer.

A Great Stalwart of the Lodge over many years who has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to Freemasonry. It is his first Active Role and the Lodge wishes him every success.

W.Bro Colin North has been re-appointed to his role of Active Provincial Grand Steward. 

Colin has been a great supporter of the Lodge and the objective for the 2025 Festival as the Lodge Charity Steward as well as being appointed by his peers as the Chairman of his board of Stewards.

W.Bro Kevin Kemp has been honoured by a promotion to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden, from his rank of Past Provincal Deputy Grand Registrar. Kevin has served in office in the Septem Lodge for 22 of his 23 years in Freemasonry, 13 of them as the Lodge Secretary. He has also been an Active Provincial Grand Steward.

Kevin also works as the Group 7 Deputy Chairman, Group 7 Almoner Co-ordinator, which incorporates a role as a Visiting Volunteer for the Masonic Charitable Foundation. He also works in the Provincial Office as a volunteer and was recently responsible as the Hermes Champion for the now delayed Hermes project.

W.Bro Peter Sparrow has been promoted from the rank of Past Provincial Grand Steward, a role that he held for 2 years as an active he travelled throughout the Province escorting senior members of the executive as they fulfilled their respective duties. Peter was promoted to the rank of Past Provincial Senior Grand Deacon.

Peter is an active Mason being a member of many other different orders, he has served the Lodge in various offices and is currently the Lodge Director of Ceremeonies.

W.Bro Mike Scurfield received his first appointment as a Provincial Grand Officer with the rank of Past Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies. Mike is one of the longest serving members of the Lodge who had to step away from the progression ladder for a time due to work committments. He worked his way back through all of the offices until he became the Worshipful Master of the Lodge.

Mike has held office in different roles and is currently the Assistant Director of Ceremonies for the Lodge, a role well suited to him as an ex Royal Marine.
