The duty of the Lodge Secretary is to issue the summonses of the Lodge, to summons all members to the Regular and Installation meetings of the lodge, the Summons also details all matters of business that may be brought forward in the Lodge, to attend the Lodge punctually and to enter the proceedings of the Lodge in the minute book for subsequent confirmation by the Lodge members at a subsequent regular meeting. 

He is required to keep a correct register of the names and addresses of all members of the Lodge and to make returns annually to the Provincial and Grand Lodges.

He also takes care of all administrative matters to do with the Lodge and its members as well as ensuring that all of the rules and regulations of the Book of Constitutions and the Lodge Bye Laws are available to the Worshipful Master and to provide any guidance that mey be required.
